Next weekend is our psd exchange fest! In preparation for that, I thought I'd share some icon tutorials that were particularly cool and helpful.

wow, these are all amazing. they also make me realise that (a) i really need to learn how to use photoshop properly and (b) i should probably give up trying to make icons.

I second goodbyebird!

I don't actually think there's any one way to do photoshop, you know? Which is why I love looking at psds--everyone has a different way. A different style. It's like looking at Picasso and Rembrandt and never wanting to use paint again--they're both awesome in their own ways, but that doesn't mean you can't be!
